Vrije Universiteit (Freie Universität Amsterdam)

This is my University in Amsterdam!

The Vrije Universiteit (VU), literal translation from Dutch: "Free University" is situated in on two compact urban campus in the southern part of Amsterdam in the Buitenveldert district. The VU was founded in 1880 by Abraham Kuyper as the first orthodox-Protestant (Calvinist) university in The Netherlands. The VU is one of the two universities in Amsterdam (the other one, bigger, is the UvA.

The logo of the university is the griffin, pictured on the right. The position of its wings symbolizes the freedom in the university's name: freedom from both state and church. One campus is the Medical faculties while the main one contains all the other faculties, the main building, the library (5 floor!), restaurants, bars, sport campus, hotel, etc...

This is the main campus 3D map
Here some photos of the main campus:
The logo is almost eveywhere!
